The iPad obviously came out April 3, 2010, now dubbed iPad Day and over 300,00 people purchased them at Apple Store nation wide. I was not one of the lucky 300,000, why? To start, I am a huge Apple fan, not to be mistaken as a fan boy, because I have many issues with Apple yet still love them. Now, Apple products are high on the pricing list which I have no issue with minus the fact that my wallet is being emptied, the iPad however is quite cheap in my opinion. I could easily purchase a 32GB iPad with no 3G, but I didn’t because I am planning on purchasing the iPhone 4G or whatever Apple names it. I will be waiting till September, or next April to get an iPad that is quite the long wait. It may be rewarding though, by the time I get an iPad there will be a camera, and many more since it will be the second generation model and it will be much more faster despite it’s already blazing speed. I have a friend who has an insider at Apple who says that the iPad 64GB model may come down to $499 sometime this year. So, waiting is a good thing, only issue is the torture of hearing and watching people play with the amazing apps, spend hours on the toilet and all the other wonderful things the Magic Pad can bring!

However, if the iPhone did go to Verizon my connection might be a bit better since there is more red around it than blue. One good thing that would come out of the switch would be that I could get a MiFi, which is a mobile WiFi hotspot. Also, if I happen to get bored of the iPhone, which won’t happen, I could get a Droid or another great Android phone.

Buzzzzzzz, Google Buzz was released not to long ago and like every Google product, I dislike and then grow to love! I wasn’t the biggest Google Nexus One fan, but later loved it and said it is almost better than the iPhone…. almost.  Anyway, Google Buzz is Google’s, king of the Internet and Internet Explorer, new take on Twitter, Facebook and Social Networking as a whole. When Buzz was released Google had done a good job of preparing by setting up a mobile web app and adding support to loads of sites like Flickr and Twitter. Buzz allows users to post status updates with no character limits, as well as linking tweets, Flickr uploads, blog posts and so forth all inside the service. Google Buzz is seemingly clean with no privacy issues and such, but it lacks many features though it is sure to in the existence of its life….. we hope. Google can take advantage of this and add it to the ‘Taking over the world one thing at a time’ plan or just let it hang in the shadows like Google Wave and then give it some publicity and so on. I really think Google is intent on putting more time and work into Buzz, and not throw it in the trash. Overall, I do like Buzz, but things like the lack of users and not much to do keep me sticking to Twitter and Facebook.

Apple’s latest magical device, the iPad just made its Grammy appearance in Stephen Colbert’s hands? Apparently! Apple sure got some good advertising there!

According to BGR, the update to the iPhone OS, which may come as soon as the special Apple next Wednesday, will include:

There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide. (Would make sense for that as the rumored OS for the iTablet is close if not the same as the iPhone

“A few new ways” to run applications in the background — multitasking.

Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. We haven’t had this broken down, but we can only hope for improved notifications, a refreshed homescreen, etc.

The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS, but will “put them ahead in the smartphone market because it will make them more like full-fledged computers” more than any other phone to date. Everyone is “really excited.”

The last piece of information is the most vague, but apparently there will be some brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.

I find most of the features likely, however I am very unhappy that the update may not be for iPod Touch. Though it does make sense, due to the fact the iPhone has many more healthy competitors.

Apple has recently purchased  a company by the name of Quattro Wireless for a nice little price of $275 million big ones, which is the most used number out there. What this acquisition could mean is that Apple is either just buying it to compete with Google’s purchase of ad giant, Ad Mob for $750 million dollars or they plan on adding app advertisement to the iPhone and iPod Touch App Store. As you can see by the picture below:

I highly doubt that Apple will put normal television ads, but ads from big name app devs like EA and Gameloft. That however, I do not like the sound of.

• The Sims 3: First of all, let me start with the price $9.99. Now, I know that $9.99 isn’t expensive for a game, but in the app store it kinda is a bit pricey. The  app crashed from the beginning and the updates never fixed it, at all. Gameplay was fun, in the beginning, but after a 10 or 15 minutes of play it truly got boring and repetitive. I am a Sims fan and bought this game on impulse, now I want a refund. I honestly have to say, don’t buy this game it was an utter disappointment.

• NBA Live 10: I had high hopes for this game after playing Madden NFL 1o. It was a disappointment from the start! The graphics are TERRIBLE! The Madden graphics weren’t the best, but the this game was not up to grade. Gameplay was decent, though I was really blowing out teams, not to brag, haha. Overall, EA did a very lack luster job on the game.

• Cooking Mama: Where to start, just where? This app really just sucks. Graphics look like something a 2 year could create, heck a 2 year old could make better graphics! Instead of like the Wii and DS version of the game, this app features like 10 recipes. It crashes, the devs don’t update or listen to the fans and the buyers. It is one of the worst games and most disappointing games on this list.

• Shazam Encore: Shazam was one of the most popular and coolest apps on the iPhone, when it came out. Encore was supposed to improve on it and make it better, that idea however bombed. It costs $2.99, and aren’t all apps that are paid supposed to be ad-free? Well, Encore isn’t, the marketing team has shown screenshots with out ads, but we get em! Update: There are not any ads in the app, we were misinformed. You would expect many updates to make it detect songs better and such, but it is the same old app. Midomi Sound-hound is a much better app.

• Gangstar: Gameloft is my favorite iPhone dev and when I saw this game I went ahead talked to my friends there and got a promo code to review it and I was addicted. Now, when I get addicted to games and apps, it is for a long time, and then I get extremely bored with them. I played through tons of missions in the game, and explored the surprisingly large map, but really lost interest. I had big hopes for it, and some were fulfilled, though I wanted less bugs, crashes, new maps and people, overall more closer to GTA than what it was. However this is a decent game, just large, buggy and after awhile, boring.

Ahhh, the non-exisistent Apple Tablet has popped back into the rumor mill! Where to start, huh? How about acccording to the New York Times, a former Apple employee has told them that that “Steve is extremely happy with the new tablet.” One thing to note, is that Steve Jobs has killed the “Apple Tablet” twice already, but we have feeling he isn’t now. Another major rumor is that Apple has purchased iSlate.com, perhaps the Tablet’s official and final name? Actually, Apple has owned the site since 2007, but just revealed now.

Bill Keller, executive editor of the New York Times referenced an Apple slate two months ago

“I’m hoping we can get the newsroom more actively involved in the challenge of delivering our best journalism in the form of Times Reader, iPhone apps, WAP, or the impending Apple slate…”

The supposed tablet is to have a 10″ inch LCD screen (Possibly OLED), Snow Leopard AND iPhone OS 3.1.2 as well, 3G capabilities and much more Apple magic! I have complete faith in the “Apple iSlate” or “Apple Tablet” whatever it is to be called and I expect it in 2010. When in 2010? Glad that you asked, it is said to be announced on January 26, 2010 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Apple and the Arts Center have made no comment about the event, sources familiar with the event say that Apple plans to make a major product announcement early next year. Apple has used the center in the past and hopefully in the future as well. So, we are going to be expecting the new tablet in January and it should be very interesting! We’ll definitely keep you posted!
